Happy Solstice all.
Here in Sydney on this still and calm winters day we celebrate the moment which holds the shortest period of sunlight and longest day of dark. An incredible time to honor the Yin energies nature provides as stillness, rejuvenation, cultivation and restoration. The dark holds many secrets yet how many of you spend time in the dark, in the shadows, in the space of life? It is the point or space before the life starts to grow, ideas start to form and things start to birth once again, and without these moments of space, there is no room for the new to organically form.
As a brand new Mum who spent her time prior, sharing the wisdoms of Peace and flow, it certainly has been a learning curve to shift from teacher to Mum and find a new balance within my practice, my life and myself. Peace is our natural expression, yet when life takes hold, the only way to regain the reigns is to completely let go of the old ideas and flow in a new way. I have learnt more than ever to be still within the movement of life, the busyness of caring for a tiny human being and have found creative ways to practice Peace. It is true that parenting or caring for another is a full time job, but it for me it does not mean that I should lose a part of myself in this process. In fact more than ever I have found a deeper relationship with the human ME, alloed myself let go of things that cloud space in my life and my consciousness, and have been consistently elevating my health so I can share all of myself in an authentic way.
Motherhood is a powerful rite of passage, one that demands pure presence with my child and new family. It has been the most incredible experience of my life so far and I chose to be truly present with this process which has meant I was offline and away from all technology for the first 40 days and have only occasionally been online up till now to share anything but baby pics. (Yes I get it now mums... my Instagram page has turned into my Phoenix memoirs and memories) In a way I love that I can scroll through my feed and it reflects exactly where my attention is and was placed at each moment of my life. Now 6 months on, I yearn to deliver, teach and share again the wisdom and the Path of Peace.
I also have an incredible birth story which I am so proud of, alongside an incredible journey with my midwife @ibirth. I elevated my wisdom and practice of self care and superhuman health during pre-conception, pregnancy and post pregnancy so I could and can cultivate the energy I need to be a mummy who thrives. Thanks to @doterra, @superfeast, @theliquidcrystals77 and more for all that I continue to learn and remember about natures medicines and natural healing. I'm also on a journey of becoming an “awesome birth practitioner” so I can support women and partners of the journey of natural birthing which I am truly excited about.
Today is also International Yoga Day. Yoga is another deep passion of mine, so I also am celebrating by practicing YIN yoga on the most YIN day in the Southern Hemisphere. To many Yin means the feminine, yet it does not mean feminine as in gender, this is merely one aspect of its manifestation, rather it represents the higher emotion of the Self. It is the feeling aspect, the stillness within the ebb and flow of life and our internal being, as well as the very nature of all life. It is the space from which all is birthed, the space of creation, creativity and all potential and the foundation of our energy. When the mind and thought - the masculine counterpart is added, we use our will to direct our energy and make things possible in our lives. And alongside action, we manifest in our physical world. But most of us experience life through mostly thoughts which lead to unconscious manifestations, all the while forgetting to tune into the stillness, the space, the point of regeneration, darkness, the shadows, the Yin. It is important to remember to feel, and feel without needing to think in order to tune into this feminine principle and create from a conscious space and experience the state of BEing present which leads to Being at Peace.
So now after this long expression what I really wanted to say is Hello once again, happy Solstice and International Yoga day to you all. May you find a moment or many to breathe and BE. May you find Peace on this day and all days. And may you be still right now, just for this moment invite all of your being to be present, allow your energies to rejuvenate, restore and wait for tomorrow to birth all the new in your life. I’ll be here again to share more on the Path of Peace soon,
Blessings, Lx
